*(All the awkward spacing in the Pinyin is to show the different words. It is color-coded on my computer, but I cannot keep the colors T-T)
*(When a part of the translation is in parentheses, it means that that word is implied to make the translation sound better in English. Words will be implied because Chinese is much more vague than English and sometimes doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when translated literally.)
*(In the line “啊 /// 為何我 /// 那雙臂 /// 失去力氣 /// 沒了食慾 /// 不見了”, “雙臂” (Shuāng Bì) literally means “Two Arms”. I think that is too literal for the purpose of the song – plus that sounds weird in English since having two arms is usually already assumed and we don’t really count our limbs when we’re talking about them – so I just left it as “Arms”. “Two arms” is technically correct though…)
*(About the Korean words in the song, I am NOT fluent in Korean, but I do know simple things like “I Love You” etc., With that being said, I do know how to read, write, and pronounce Korean, I just couldn’t tell you what most of it means. I know that most people would Romanize “아 사랑해요” as “Ah Saranghaeyo”, but since in Korean there is no difference between “R” and “L” I prefer to use “L” when dealing with the letter “ㄹ”. I think using “L” is easier because it helps English speakers learn how to roll their tongues when pronouncing, but again, this is just my personal opinion. I Romanize Korean based on how it is literally spelled, not how it would sound. I think it is very hard to read Romanized Korean and I find Hangul much easier but I have included the Romanization for those who don’t know Hangul. I really just felt the need to point this out, sorry -__- )
*(In the line, “那個我 /// 慢慢張開如火焰般的瞳孔”, “瞳孔” (Tóng Kǒng) means “Pupil (of eye)”. I left the translation as “Pupil” because I wanted it to uphold its original meaning, but I think “Pupil” sounds awkward in the sentence. Using “Eye(s)” would sound much better, but I didn’t want to tweak the meaning too much.)
*(In the line, “成為 /// 我的愛 /// 我的愛 /// 我的愛”, “成為” (Chéng Wéi) means “To Become” or “To Turn into”. I have the translation worded as “Be my love” because it flows better, but “Become my love” would also work.)
*(“夜空” (Yè Kōng) literally means “Night Sky” because “夜” means “Night” and “空” means “Sky”. “夜空” can also just mean “Sky” but I prefer to use “Night Sky” because if I were using “Sky” I would like the Chinese characters to be “天空” (Tiān Kōng) – which means “Sky”.)
*(In the line, “拼命想轉變我 /// 但它 /// 在夜空之上發了瘋”, “拼命” (Pīn Mìng) means “To Be Ready to Risk One’s Life (In Work, Fighting, etc.,)” I couldn’t think of a way to make this sound normal in English so I looked it up on Google Translate, which told me “拼命” means “Desperately”. None of my other dictionaries said “拼命” means this, but since I couldn’t think of a better word – and I was being lazy – I went with “Desperately” though I’m not sure that that is correct. It makes sense though…)
*(“狼與美女” (Láng Yǔ Měi Nǚ) means “The Wolf and the Beauty”. For those who wanted to know^^)
*(Please don’t edit my translation and if you would like to use it, please credit me as either chubgyu.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com – yes, I like Kim Sunggyu very much…)
*(I hope you enjoyed my translation and again I apologize for all my notes. Remember to always support EXO, K-pop and C-pop ^^. Xie Xie Ni Men~~~~)
