Translator’s Notes:

*(My Tumblr is still being weird so I’m uploading my translations on WordPress first again. . .  Other than that, this song is nice, and this is random but I liked her hoop skirt that she wore in the music video. . .)

*(I do not own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers.  I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate and referencing the lyrics in the video on the official Youtube channel.  I did the Pinyin and Translation myself, however.  I use Traditional Chinese characters just like they do in Taiwan because I prefer them to Simplified and I taught myself Chinese using Traditional characters.  Please note that Chinese is not my first language so at times, my translations might be off, too literal, or wrong.  I’m still learning, and I translate songs to gain experience, so I apologize in advance for any errors ^^)

*(To translate songs, I use an online Mandarin dictionary, an online Cantonese dictionary (it is a Canto-Mando, Mando-Canto, Canto-Eng, Mando-Eng, Pinyin-Jyutping, etc., dictionary and is VERY explanatory) and a paperback Mandarin dictionary.)

*(All the awkward spacing in the Pinyin is to show the different words.  It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)

*(When a part of the translation is in parentheses, it means that that word is implied to make the translation sound better in English.  Words will be implied because Chinese is much more vague than English and sometimes doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when translated literally.)

*(Throughout the song, in the Pinyin, every time you see “不” (Bu) written with the second tone (ú) instead of the standard fourth tone (ù), it is because the character following it is also pronounced with the fourth tone.  “不” is standardly pronounced with the fourth tone in Mandarin, except for when it is followed by another character of the fourth tone, in which case its pronunciation changes to tone two.  I changed the pronunciation each time this happened, for example, “Bú Shì”)

*(The Chinese title of this song is “喜劇收場” (Xǐ Jù Shōu Chǎng) and it means “Happy Ending”.)

*(In the line, “×愛原來變淡 /// 味道會變酸”, “味道” (Wèi Dào) is also pronounced “Wèi Dao”.)

*(In the line, “才愛到一半 /// 就道感謝散場”, “感謝” (Gǎn Xiè) is the more formal term for “Thank You” in Standard Spoken Mandarin and Standard Chinese.  “謝謝” (Xiè Xiè/e) is the Modern Standard Chinese and Mandarin Normal/Standard Term for “Thanks/Thank You”.  In Spoken Cantonese, “多謝” [Duō Xiè (Mand.)/Do1 Ze6 (Canto.)] is used for “Goods Received” and “唔該” [Wú Gāi (Mand.)/M4 Goi1 (Canto.)] is used for “Services Rendered”.  “M4 Goi1” literally means “Should not” as in “I should not bother you with this, but please…” or “I should not have made you do this, but thank you.”  This had no relevance to the translation, but I thought that it would be fun to share ^^)

*(I have two notes for the line “滑稽地像個小丑”.  First, “滑稽” (Huá Jī) is also pronounced “Huá Ji”.  Second, the character “滑” is pronounced two ways:  “Huá” and “Gǔ”.  Both mean “Comical” but in the word, “滑稽” the pronunciation of “滑” varies depending on where the word is spoken.  For example, “Huá Jī/i” is Mainland/China pronunciation and “Gǔ Jī/i” is Taiwan pronunciation.  I used the pronunciation you can hear in the song, though “Hua Ji” is Mainland pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “即興地 /// 再次擁抱我”, “擁抱” (Yong Bao) has two pronunciations:  “Yǒng Bào” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Yōng Bào” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(I am working on the remaining songs in the album and hope to have them done soon, though if it takes a while then I apologize; I am working on translations for literally like six other albums and I have school as well.  I hope you all enjoyed my translation and please do not claim it as your own.  If you would like to use it, please be sure to credit me properly (I may be credited as either chubgyu.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com).  Feel free to like, comment, reblog, follow, etc.  Remember to always support Rainie Yang and c-pop.  Xie Xie Ni Men ^-^)
