Translator’s Notes:

*(This is a cute song, but I really wish that Victoria wasn’t in it.  I have an extremely strong dislike for f(x) and all of their members, so it was kind of disappointing that such a cute song had an idol that I really don’t care for featuring in it…)

*(I do NOT own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers.  I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate.  The Pinyin and translation was done by me.  I use Traditional Chinese characters because I like them more than Simplified characters and I taught myself Chinese using Traditional.  Please note that Chinese is NOT my first language and at times my translations might be off, too literal, or wrong.  I translate songs to gain experience and I’m still learning so I apologize for any errors. ^^)

*(To translate songs, I use an online Mandarin dictionary, an online Cantonese dictionary (it is a Canto-Mando, Mando-Canto, Canto-Eng, Mando-Eng, Pinyin-Jyutping, etc., dictionary and is VERY explanatory) and a paperback Mandarin dictionary.)

*(All the awkward spacing in the Pinyin is to show the different words.  It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)

*(When a part of the translation is in parentheses, it means that that word is implied to make the translation sound better in English.  Words will be implied because Chinese is much more vague than English and sometimes doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when translated literally.)

*(I have seen two different titles for this song and I’m not sure which one is accurate.  The first is “爱上你” (Ài Shàng Nǐ) and it’s the title used written in Simplified form on the official Track List.  “爱上你” means “Loving you” or “Falling in Love With You”.  The other title I saw is “愛上爾” (Ài Shàng Ěr) which basically means the same thing as “Ai Shang Ni” but “Er” is a very formal form of “You” and literally means “Thou; You; or, That”.  In Simplified Chinese, “Ai Shang Er” is written as “爱上尔”.  Because I wasn’t sure whether or not “Ai Shang Er” was an official title, I just used “Ai Shang Ni” but I put it in Traditional form – “愛上你”.)

*(In the line, “我最關心的你 /// 此刻會出現在哪裡”, “哪裡” (Nǎ Lǐ) means “Where” and “Wherever”.  It also means “No” when it is used in Modest Denial: ex. “哪裡, 我的國語不好 (No, my Mandarin is not good.)”  In Northern China, Mandarin speakers prefer to use “哪兒” (Nǎ Er) which is also pronounced “Nǎ’R” and it means “Where/Wherever” just like “Na Li”.  “Na Er” would most likely be used in Beijing-dialect and other Northern-Mandarin-dialect Chinese.  In Northern Mandarin, the speakers really enjoy rolling their R’s (兒) and this practice is called “兒化” (Ér Huà) in Chinese and it means that it is the “Usage of the final particle/suffix “兒” and it is placed after many commonly-used nouns to avoid employing one-syllable terms in Northern-Mandarin and Beijing-Mandarin Mandarin dialects.”  Also, as a final note, “哪裡” is more likely to be pronounced “Nǎ Lǐ” in Taiwan and “Nǎ Li” in Mainland China.)

*(In the line, “不期而遇的街頭”, “不期而遇” (Bu Qi Er Yu) has two pronunciations:  “Bù Qī Ér Yù” and “Bù Qí Ér Yù”.  “Bù Qī Ér Yù” is Mainland/China pronunciation and “Bù Qí Ér Yù” is Taiwan pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “愛是滿分的擁有”, “擁有” (Yong You) has two pronunciations:  “Yǒng Yǒu” and “Yōng Yǒu”.  “Yǒng Yǒu” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Yōng Yǒu” is Mainland/China pronunciation.)

*(In the line, “空氣中忽然有種莫名的感動”, I’m pretty sure that “中” (Zhong) should be pronounced “Zhōng” instead of “Zhòng” like it is in the Pinyin.  This is because “Zhōng” means “Within; Among; In; Middle; Center; While (Doing Something); During; China; and, Chinese” and “Zhòng” means “Hit (The Mark); Be Affect By; Fall into; Fit Exactly; Be Agreeable to.”  Also, there is a phrase similar to “空氣中” (Kōng Qì Zhòng = In the Air) which is “天空中” (Tiān Kōng Zhōng) that means “In the Sky” and it uses “Zhong” pronounced with the first tone instead of the fourth.  I was not 100% sure about the tone though, so I left it as “Zhòng”.)

*(In the line, “命中註定愛上你” , there is a phrase similar to this, “命中註定我愛你” (Mìng Zhòng Zhù Dìng Wǒ Ài Nǐ), which means “It is Fate That I Love You.”  The phrase used in the line is “命中註定愛上你” (Mìng Zhòng Zhù Dìng Ài Shàng Nǐ) which basically means the same thing as “Ming Zhong Zhu Ding Wo Ai Ni” except that the “Ai Shang Ni” changes the meaning slightly to “It is Fate That I’ve Fallen for You” or “It is Fate That I’ve Fallen in Love With You.”  And to end on a fun note, “命中註定我愛你” (Mìng Zhòng Zhù Dìng Wǒ Ài Nǐ) is the Chinese title of the Taiwanese Drama ”Fated to Love You”.  For anyone who’s interested, you should totally watch this version because it is better than the Korean Drama and it is such a great drama ^-^)

*(I am still working on the remaining songs in the EP and I hope to have them uploaded soon.  I hope you all enjoyed my translation and please do not claim it as your own.  If you would like to use it, please be sure to credit me properly (I may be credited as either chubgyu.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com).  Remember to always support Zhou Mi, Super Junior-M, Super Junior, k-pop and c-pop.  Xie Le Da Jia ^-^)
