Translator’s Notes:
*(I do not own the lyrics to this song – the lyrics belong to the writers. I typed the lyrics myself using Google Translate. I did the Pinyin and Translation myself, however. I use Traditional Chinese characters just like they do in Taiwan because I prefer them to Simplified and I taught myself Chinese using Traditional characters. Please note that Chinese is not my first language so at times, my translations might be off, too literal, or wrong. I’m still learning, and I translate songs to gain experience, so I apologize in advance for any errors ^^)
*(To translate songs, I use an online Mandarin dictionary, an online Cantonese dictionary (it is a Canto-Mando, Mando-Canto, Canto-Eng, Mando-Eng, Pinyin-Jyutping, etc., dictionary and is VERY explanatory) and a paperback Mandarin dictionary.)
*(All the awkward spacing in the Pinyin is to show the different words. It is color-coded on my computer, but I can’t keep the colors T-T)
*(When a part of the translation is in parentheses, it means that that word is implied to make the translation sound better in English. Words will be implied because Chinese is much more vague than English and sometimes doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when translated literally.)
*(Throughout the song, in the Pinyin, every time you see “不” (Bu) written with the second tone (ú) instead of the standard fourth tone (ù), it is because the character following it is also pronounced with the fourth tone. “不” is standardly pronounced with the fourth tone in Mandarin, except for when it is followed by another character of the fourth tone, in which case its pronunciation changes to tone two. I changed the pronunciation each time this happened, for example, “Bú Shì”)
*(The Chinese title of this song is “變形女” (Biàn Xíng Nǚ) and it means “Transformed Woman.” “Bian Xing” means “To Change Shape; Be Out of Shape; Become Deformed; To Morph; and, To be Morphed” so there can be many variants to the meaning of the title. This is just what I translated it as.)
*(In the line, “無法用言語形容 /// 她到底是什麼東西”, “東西” (Dong Xi) is pronounced two ways: “Dōng Xī” and “Dōng Xi”. “Dōng Xī” is Taiwan pronunciation and “Dōng Xi” is Mainland/China pronunciation. Also, “Dōng Xi” typically means “Thing/Person/Article/Stuff/Person/Guy/Fellow” and “Dōng Xī” typically means “East and West/East-West”. I’m not sure whether or not these pronunciations are interchangeable since one of my dictionaries says they are, but I used “Dōng Xī” anyway since I prefer Taiwan pronunciation.)
*(In the line, “那裡 /// 那裡 /// 那裡 /// 那裡”, “那裡” (Nà Lǐ) is also pronounced “Nà Li”, with “Nà Lǐ” being Taiwan pronunciation and “Nà Li” being Mainland/China pronunciation.)
*(In the line, “了不起的你是 mega girl”, “了不起” (Liǎo Bù Qǐ) is also pronounced “Liǎo Bu Qǐ”.)
*(In the line, “Oh baby baby baby 危險的太驚心動魄”, “危” (Wei) has two pronunciations: “Wēi” and “Wéi”. “Wēi” is standard, Mainland/China pronunciation and “Wéi” is variant, Taiwan pronunciation.)
*(In the line, “下了決心 /// 捨不得這時間”, “捨不得” (Shě Bu Dé) is also pronounced “Shě Bu De” and “Shě Bù Dé”.)
*(I hope you all liked my translation and I will post some more songs from the album soon. Please do not edit my translation and please credit me if you would like to use it. (I may be credited as either chubgyu.tumblr.com or kimsnugglegyu7.wordpress.com). Feel free to like, comment, reblog, follow, etc. and remember to always support Exo-M, Exo-K, C-pop, and K-pop. OMG this is amazing and helping me learn so much chinese thank you so much i love you

i have two suggestions however instead of repeat can you just put the lyrics again (copy and paste) because i have to keep going badk up and find the lyrics when im singing lmao. and also if you have time can you add the person singing the line?
kimsnugglegyu7 said:
Oh my gosh, I am super glad you liked my translation and thank you so much for your compliments, I am blushing ^///^
And I’m sorry if that’s a hassle with the repeats, it gets to me too when I’m trying to edit my translations and I have to keep pausing the song and scrolling back up to the right spot, but I do it that way so that I don’t have to type so much, though I can give it a shot if you’d like. And I can also see if I’m able to add color to the lines and if I can then I will definitely color code it for you! Thanks again for your compliments and I hope you enjoyed my blog!!!

andy again! I’m chinese but i grew up speaking a different dialect (fuzhounese). ever since i got into exo i realized that i should have pride in my chinese culture (at one point i wanted to be white…smh right?) i never really had chinese celebrities to look up to but kris lay tao and luhan helped me appreciate my chinese ethnicity. and now im trying to learn mandarin and you really helped me a lot because you actually put accurate translations (many other websites put the korean translations for the chinese and with my limited knowledge i realize these translations arent accurate) and you also put tone marks! which is rare to find. thanks so much for your hard work! and im curious as to what your bias list for exo is!
andy said:
oh can you do any of these next – tender love lady luck NO PRESSURE! 🙂
(and im guessing its kris)

Hi ^-^ You’re right, you should definitely be proud to be Chinese! I am white, lol, but I really love Chinese people. I don’t know any in real life, but I’ve been a big fan of c-pop since 2009 and I just really like their culture and their attitudes. I also think that Chinese is such a beautiful language, and I love the way they use words; I think the meaning behind everything they say is so powerful. My all time favorite Chinese idol is Wu Chun (he’s actually from Brunei but he’s still Chinese lol) and I think he’s a great person and I look up to him a lot. And thank you so much for your compliments, they really make my day and I’m really glad that they help you learn more about your culture ^-^ I only speak Mandarin and Cantonese and like a super little bit of Taiwanese-Hokkien but I wish I was a native speaker so I could know more, lol. And my top bias in EXO is Chen (I love his so much) but as for like top 5, I’d say: 1. Chen 2. Suho 3. Baekhyun 4. Chanyeol 5. Lu Han. And I actually have Lady Luck posted on my tumblr blog (http://peach-jjinyoung.tumblr.com/) so you can check it out there if you want, but I’m getting ready to post it here on wordpress either today or tomorrow and I’ll be posting a normal version and a colored version without the repeats, haha. And I am currently working on Beautiful and the songs from the repackage so I’ll be posting those soon. Sorry about the wait though and it’s no pressure at all ^^ Have a great day and thanks again for your comments ^-^

hey it’s andy again. i’m glad you’re a fan of c-pop, have you watched chinese movies? what are your favorites? actors/actresses?
i like leslie cheung, stephen chow movies, bruce lee, and this movie called eternal summer really touched me.
i might go to china next month, and i just wanted to say thanks again because i feel even more confident with my chinese due to this site.
anyway, what do you think about the tao situation? he was always in my top 3 bias list, sometimes even becoming my bias (but my bias list fluctuates a lot). i’ve always cared about him. when i found out he was potentially leaving i denied it and was upset. at that point i think he was one of the reasons why i still liked exo because i lost interest in them. they kinda got boring and redundant. and the members i once liked started to annoy me.i thought he would come back eventually when he healed..but obviously hes not coming back lmao. i miss him and wish he didn’t leave but as long as he’s happy i can deal with it. with the recent album though… he’s getting so much hate. it hurts me to read the comments … i just want him to be happy. at the same time i wish he thought about his more it all happened so fast and i wish he didnt leave his friends especially sehun.. they were so close. oh well. he said something about the past forever being a part of him but the future being more important. i wonder what your stance is? we can agree to disagree.
and if you want, can you do lyrics for tao’s new album? its only 3 songs. but again, no pressure at all it’s just that you’re just my go-to person for chinese lyrics haha. again thank you so much i really appreciate this site tremendously. and i’m glad you’re interested in my culture. living in america, i hear racist comments all the time and people could care less about china where i live. but i’m glad someone has respects china. have you been to china? hong kong is so beautiful. and i watched so many vlogs of shanghai i want to go so bad. anyway bye thank you so much ♡
andy said:
and i forgot to say i like wong kar-wai movies. i have to watch his whole filmography i only watched a couple.
andy said:
omg sorry one last thing have you watched chinese dramas? ive always wanted to start one but idk which one. preferably a mandarin recommendation if you have any since im trying to learn mandarin. lol sorry bye 🙂

Hi! (This comment is just so long, sorry) I feel bad because I’ve been so out of the loop lately due to trying to get registered for school next month, but I just went and researched what happened with Tao, lol. I think that it’s sad that he left EXO, though like you, I’m glad that he’s happy. And I was always kind of more into EXO-M because they sang Chinese (and Chen’s my favorite EXO member) so it’s kind of sad to see them disintegrate. I am a bit upset that Tao’s getting so much hate for leaving when he wasn’t the first member to leave, just because it’s not very fair to him that he’s being disliked for taking care of his own well-being and following his dream like the other past members have. And with the past album, I feel like SM is trying to replace Tao, Lu Han, and Kris with the members of EXO-K, and it feels to me like some members of EXO-K get more lines in the Chinese versions than Chen, Xiu Min, or Lay. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t dislike any member of EXO, but I just find it a bit unfair that the remaining members of EXO-M aren’t getting the same recognition as EXO-K, and I’m sad for the members who have left and all the pressure they are being put under by lawsuits and angry fans. I think that if Tao is doing what he wants to do, then his fans will be able to accept that and still continue to support him ^^ (And I totally get what you mean by EXO becoming a bit redundant, both me and my sister were just saying the other day about how we felt that while “Call Me Baby” and “Love Me Right” were good songs, they were not as good as “Overdose” was and we found them a bit disappointing). And I also did not know that Tao released a solo single (again ’cause I’m out of the loop, lol) but I will definitely get started on those right away (I just looked up the audio for all three songs, lol).
And your comments about liking my blog made me blush so much ^////^ I’m so happy that you like my blog and continue to visit it, it really makes my day ^^ And I’m so sorry to hear that about where you live, that’s not fair. I live in the U.S. too, in a small city in the North-east, but we have a decent-sized Asian population. There aren’t many Chinese living in my city (most of the Asians are Vietnamese, Filipino, and like a little bit of Korean) but everyone gets along pretty well, and the urban areas are pretty diverse. And that’s so cool that you’re going to China, do you know which city you’ll be going to? I have never been to China (I’ve never left the U.S. and the longest trip I went on was to Charlotte, NC, lol) I would like to go someday though, and I definitely agree that Hong Kong is very beautiful. And so is Shanghai, and I’ve heard that that’s the best city for foreigners to visit, lol. I would also like to visit Taiwan too, specifically Taipei and Kaohsiung.
And yes, I do watch Chinese movies and dramas. I really like them, and it’s a great way to learn Chinese ^^ My favorite dramas are Fated to Love You (I think the Taiwan version is better than Korea’s), Hana Kimi, Hi My Sweetheart, ToGetHer, Down With Love, and the It Started With a Kiss series (I have seen like every version of Itazura na Kiss and read the manga and I think this is the best version, Ariel Lin plays the role so well), and my favorite movies are You are the Apple of My Eye, Butterfly Lovers (the 2008 one with Charlene Choi and Wu Chun, I really like those actors and I like that legend itself), Ripples of Desire, and the Tiny Times series by Guo Jingming. And my favorite actors/actresses are, Rainie Yang, Ariel Lin, Jerry Yan, Joe Cheng, Yang Mi, Michelle Chen/Chen Yanxi, Ko Chen-tung, Mike He, Angelababy, Ivy Chen, and there’s more but I can’t remember them all, lol. And I just racked my brain for all the dramas and movies I’ve seen to recommend to you:
1. Devil Beside You (惡魔在身邊) (Starring Rainie Yang & Mike He)
2. ToGetHer (愛就宅一起) (Starring Rainie Yang and Jiro Wang – this one is so good and not a lot of people liked her character but I really did lol)
3. Down With Love (就想賴著妳) (Starring Ella Chen and Jerry Yan – this one is also really sweet and funny, the storyline and acting are amazing)
4. Hana Kimi (花樣少年少女) (Starring Ella Chen, Wu Chun, and Jiro Wang – this is my favorite version of this drama and I have also watched all of these, lol)
5. It Started With a Kiss (惡作劇之吻) (Starring Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng – this is one of the best dramas I’ve ever seen, and watch the 2nd season They Kiss Again (惡作劇2吻) too)
6. A Story of Lala’s Promotion (杜拉拉升職記) (Starring Wang Luodan and Li Guangwei)
7. Miss No Good (不良笑花) (Starring Rainie Yang and Wilbur Pan – this one is really funny)
8. Hi My Sweetheart (海派甜心) (Starring Rainie Yang and Show Luo – the acting is super good and it’s really adorable and hilarious)
9. Fated to Love You (命中注定我愛你) (Starring Joe Chen and Ethan Ruan/Juan – I really liked this one and I think it’s better than Korea’s even though it’s older)
10. Absolute Darling (絕對達令) (Starring Jiro Wang and Ku Hye-sun – I really love this manga and the drama is good, but I don’t really care for Ku Hye-sun…)
11. Why Why Love (換換愛) (Starring Rainie Yang, Mike He, and Kigone Wang)
12. Bullfighting (鬥牛, 要不要) (Starring Hebe Tien and Mike He – this was my very first Chinese drama and it’s really good)
13. Say I Love You (勇敢說出我愛你) (Starring Mike He and Alice Ke)
14. Spring Love (美人龍湯) (Starring Mike He, Dayuan Lin, Sato Mai, and Nylon Chen)
15. Rolling Love! Go Fried Rice (翻滾吧!蛋炒飯) (Starring Jiro Wang, Danson Tang, and Genie Chou)
16. Meteor Garden (流星花園) (Starring Barbie Hsu, Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Ken Chu, and Vic Zhou – this is the Chinese version of Boys Over Flowers/Hana Yori Dango)
17. Peach Girl (蜜桃女孩) (Starring Annie Wu, Vanness Wu, and Kenji Wu – this is Taiwan’s adaptation of the manga Peach Girl, it’s from 2002 so the quality is so-so)
18. Tiny Times (小時代) (Starring Yang Mi, Ko Chen-tung, Amber Kuo, Rhydian Vaughn, Bea Hayden Guo/Kuo Biting, and Xie Yilin – there’s Tiny Times 1, 2, 3, and 4 but Ko Chen-tung’s scenes in the 4th one were edited out because he was arrested in Beijing in August last year for marijuana)
19. You are the Apple of My Eye (那些年, 我們一起追女孩) (Starring Michelle Chen/Chen Yanxi and Ko Chen-tung – this movie was so good and the song by Hu Xia is amazing)
20. Love Buffet (愛似百匯) (Starring Aaron Yan, Calvin Chen, and Reen Yu)
21. Love at Second Sight (一見不鍾情) (Starring Rainie Yang, Zheng Kai, and Michael Zhang – this is a Mainland drama, so the subtitles will be in Simplified Chinese)
22. Hear Me (聽說) (Starring Michelle Chen/Chen Yanxi, Ivy Chen, and Eddie Peng – I haven’t watched this yet but I heard it was good)
23. Butterfly Lovers (武俠梁祝) (Starring Charlene Choi and Wu Chun – this is in Cantonese but there is standard Chinese subtitles)
24. Fall in Love With Me (愛上兩個我) (Starring Aaron Yan and Tia Lee – I haven’t watched this one yet either, but I translated the OSTs for it, lol)
25. You are My Sunshine (何以笙簫默) (Starring Yang Mi, Huang Xiaoming, Tong Dawei, Angelababy, Xie Yilin, and Huang Zi Tao – Tao plays a secondary character but I think this was his first film since leaving EXO, I’m in the middle of watching it and it’s good so far. I found it through Li Ronghao’s song for it “不將就” (I love Li Ronghao so much and I think he looks like Suga from BTS lol) The movie is also known as “Silent Separation” and its Chinese title means “Why are the Flutes and Sheng (traditional instrument) Silent?” and it comes from a line in a 1930’s poem by Hsu Chih-mo. Oh, and there’s a Chinese drama that aired in January this year also by this name which I also haven’t watched but you can check that out too ^^)
26. Twa Tiu Tiann (大稻埕) (Starring Gou-Liang Chu, Sonia Sui, Chris Wang, Man-shu Chien, Lee-zen Lee, and Yi Lee – this is mostly in Taiwanese-Hokkien but it has standard Chinese subtitles)
27. Ripples of Desire (花漾) (Starring Jerry Yan, Sandra Ng, Simon Yam, Michelle Chen/Chen Yanxi, Joe Cheng, Xiao-ran Li, Zi-jun Mao, and Ivy Chen)
Oh my gosh, sorry if there’s so many, I just wanted to give you a good variety ^^ Give a few of them a look (you don’t have to watch them all) and let me know which ones you liked or didn’t like. Thank you again for your compliments and also I hope you enjoy your trip to China ^-^
